Heather Brunton serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Veterans Assistance. Heather began working for the Department in April 2021. She is from Lewis County and now resides in Kanawha County with her family.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and is a Certified Grants Management Specialist. Prior to joining the Department, she was the Chief Financial Officer for the School Building Authority and was also the Financial Manager for the WV Commission for National and Community Service. She has over 25 years of accounting experience, including 10 years of experience with State Government with a focus in financial management, accounting and grants management.
