WVDVA Honors West Virginia Veterans As They Launch A New Website

8/19/2011

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance (WVDVA) today officially launched the department’s new website, www.veterans.wv.gov.

Secretary Gwinn's desire for the new website is that it will honor our West Virginia Veterans and their families, provide the resources and information needed to assist them with their inquiries and the benefits available to them, and to assist in promoting veteran friendly communities, as well as, educating our West Virginia youth and general public to the sacrifices our military, veterans, and their families make to secure the every day freedoms we enjoy each day in the United States.

The West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance website was developed through an innovative public-private partnership between the State of West Virginia and West Virginia Interactive, which was established in 2007 to assist state government agencies in building and managing interactive online services.

West Virginia Interactive, which also developed the State’s main Web site, WV.gov, is a subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC (NASDAQ: EGOV), the nation’s leading provider of official government portals and online services.
