Governor Tomblin and Cabinet Secretary Gwinn Announce Dedication Date for Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance (WVDVA) Cabinet Secretary Keith Gwinn today announced the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery will be dedicated on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2012 at 3 p.m.
“I hope West Virginians set aside this very important day to honor our state’s veterans,” said Gov. Tomblin.
The dedication ceremony is open to the public and will take place at the cemetery’s committal shelter. Gov. Tomblin and WVDVA Cabinet Secretary Gwinn along with Senator Rockefeller, Senator Manchin, Congresswoman Capito, members of the Kinnard family and state veterans will participate in the ceremony.
Parking will be available in the West Virginia State Police Academy parking lot adjacent to the cemetery entrance and citizens will be shuttled by bus to the ceremony less than one mile away. Other accommodations will be made for members of the media and guests with special needs.
